Redundancy - Architecture

Door Tablet offers a number of redundancy features. This page describes a server based architecture that shows how the system handles a situation where a server is down. By having a second server, you have some security should one go down for unforeseen reasons.

How it works
  1. Door Tablet clients communicate with their dedicated server, over normal connections using HTTP/S
  2. If their server is down, further communication switches to a fall-back connection
  3. When the dedicated server resumes operation, the Door Tablet clients revert back to the dedicated server
  4. Servers are connected to each other and regularly replicate
  5. The recommended architecture for servers is hub and spoke
